The three-story building at 260 Washington St has stood long enough that the woodwork remembers things. Walk into Elks Lodge 319 and you feel it immediately: the weight of decades in the plaster, the echo of banquets and ceremonies in the grand ballroom upstairs, the quiet pride of a fraternal organization that never stopped showing up for East Stroudsburg.

That top-floor ballroom is the crown jewel. Members and guests who have hosted weddings and receptions there describe it as old-world and dignified, the kind of space where a few well-placed candles transform history into atmosphere. Three full floors of meeting rooms, gathering spaces, and event halls make this one of the most active and intact Lodge buildings left standing in Pennsylvania.

BPOE 319 is part of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, a national fraternal organization with deep roots in community service, veterans support, and youth programs. Membership here is not about nostalgia alone. It is about carrying those commitments forward, right here on Washington Street, in one of the most storied Lodge buildings in the Keystone State.

What We Offer

Lodge 319 offers its members and the broader East Stroudsburg community a full calendar of activities rooted in the Elks' founding mission: charity, justice, brotherly love, and fidelity.

The ballroom on the top floor is available for private events including wedding receptions, anniversaries, and milestone celebrations. The Lodge also hosts regular member meetings, social nights, and fraternal ceremonies throughout the year. Veterans programs are central to the Elks mission nationally, and Lodge 319 honors that commitment locally through service projects and recognition events. Youth initiatives, scholarship opportunities, and community fundraisers round out an annual calendar that keeps this building alive and purposeful.

Membership in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks opens the door to a national network of over 800,000 members, local fellowship, and the chance to give back in tangible ways. Prospective members can visit the Lodge website at elks.org or stop by 260 Washington St to learn how to apply and get involved with Lodge 319.

"We had our wedding reception here. Top floor ballroom is a classy old world room that cleaned up good. With a few candles you could easily mask the smell of one hundred years of cigars. Lots of parking."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
